GlobalStar Travel Management Reaches for the Stars!

June 19, 2008GlobalStar 6th Annual Conference Dubai 2008 10 - 14 May 2008 Dubai London – GlobalStars 6th annual conference, this year held in the United Arab Emirates – Dubai was considered the most successful GlobalStar conference ever. The multinational travel management partner organization discussed its new vision for the near future whereby it will definitely reach for the stars as the theme of this year’s conference. The conference was opened by Shaikha Lubna Al Quasimi, Minister of foreign trade in the UAE. The enormous change the UAE went through the last couple of years inspired the GlobalStar organization to embrace some major changes. To revolutionize into a more cohesive organization was the main matter of the conference where over 100 participants from over 60 countries reviewed the new business plan and unanimously supported for a plan of change. “Review of membership categories and their annual investment will result in substantial additional budget which is needed for building up a new and strong Management Team who will position GlobalStar as a true Multinational Travel Management company in the Global marketplace today” says Mr. Peter Klebanow, Chairman of GlobalStar and CEO and Chairman of Ultramar Travel in New York. Commitment to this change was seen amongst all GlobalStar partners who are all amongst the top 10 of travel management companies in their local market. The significant targets in relation to new business, organization and growth of the network are ambitious but realistic. “The new team, run by a central President and an Operating Committee made up of 4 board members will oversee what we envisage will be 18 full time executive staff to be phased in over the next 3 years”, according to Klebanow. “This was an extremely well organized event and it was a pleasure to spend time with such a positive and enthusiastic group of individuals. I feel very inspired and am already looking forward to next year’s event.” according to Fiona Draper, Global Account Manager - Travelport GDS.
